Part 1: Scoring the Hottest Collegiate Apparel

Well, guys, Labor Day Weekend is finally upon us, bringing with it the culmination of Summer and the beginning of what is, in my opinion, the absolute best season of the year – FALL!

I can’t even begin to describe my complete and utter obsession with everything that is Fall.

I mean, what’s not to love about over-sized sweaters, boots on boots, men in flannels, pumpkin spice flavored everything, “cuddle weather,” and, my personal favorite, FOOTBALL?!

Maybe it’s my inner cheerleader, but there is just something about football season that really gets me going.

I honestly can’t get enough of this sport – the smells, the sounds, the traditions, and the adrenaline rush of it all.

Yes, cheering under the Friday night lights was definitely a teenage dream come true, and ending my weekends with the gorgeous + leggy Carrie Underwood harmoniously reminding me what I’ve been “waiting all day for” is always exciting, but it’s actually college football that truly has my heart and soul.

Thanks to my Trojan-alum pops, I’ve been celebrating Saturdays and repping that USC cardinal + gold since I was basically “fresh out the womb”.

Though my Men of Troy didn’t exactly have a great start to their 2016 season (yes, I’m well aware it was literally a brutal beat down and, quite frankly, I’m still recovering emotionally), they’re my team nonetheless, and I have nothing but mad, unconditional, Twitter-ranting-fanatic love for them.

What can I say? I’m a loyal lady.

Yep, lovin’ all up on SC football has been my longest, most committed endeavor thus far, and I am honestly a firm believer that there is no greater sporting experience than a college football game.

Personally, I’d have to say not much compares to the hype of tailgating and pregame festivities that start at the crack of dawn, and the feeling of being surrounded by so much pride and school spirit is really what it’s all about. Right?

Plus, bitches heart game day outfits. We heart them so hard.

Not that I’m biased or anything (I totally am), but over the past few years I’ve seen some of the cutest, most creative game day outfits come strutting their stuff across the USC campus and through the Coliseum gates.

I have to hand it to ‘em, this new generation of students and fans have awesome game day fashion sense, and know how to combine collegiate attire with the latest trends, which has definitely inspired me to step up my game day, uh…game?

Whatever, you get where I’m going with this.

So, let’s get to it – GAME DAY APPAREL: What’s “in” for 2016, and where the heck can you snag it?

You don’t have to be a Los Angeles-based student, sorority girl, or alum to score some seriously cool, and, most importantly, UNIQUE game day garb this season.

If you’re tired of whipping out the same basic jerseys and t-shirts every year, look no further, because thanks to a couple of my current fave up-and-coming collegiate apparel brands, as well as some awesome finds I’ve come across here and there, you’ll be suited up and stylin’ for Saturdays.

HYPE & VICE

Since its establishment last year, my absolute go-to for game day outfits is Hype & Vice.

If you want to talk about genuine, comfortable, trendy apparel, this is it.

Whether you’re a USC Trojan, UCLA Bruin, Arizona State Sun Devil, UC Berkeley Golden Bear, or Arizona Wildcat, you can find the perfect gear for your Saturday shenanigans.

Hype & Vice keeps their styles current with crop tops, bodysuits, high-waisted cheer skirts, embroidered caps, graphic tees, and so much more.

Not to mention you have the option to work with the Hype & Vice team to create custom bulk orders for your game day squad, sorority, frat, or special event.

Check out their 2016 lookbook here for some inspiration + get your hands on the goods while you can!

VICTORYWEAR APPAREL

Much like Hype & Vice, Victorywear Apparel started with trendy, high quality USC game day gear. However, the company has now expanded to create getups for a wide range of college teams; including USC, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Maryland, ASU, FSU, Tulane, U Miami, Arizona, and Michigan.

Don’t see your school? Don’t worry. Custom orders are accepted here as well!

However, if your team is currently listed, you have plenty of time to grab everything from graphic bandeaus and embroidered metallic crops to muscle tanks for the boys this season.

ETSY + EBAY

It may seem a little questionable, but, I’m telling you, Etsy + eBay are two of my favorite places to get game day gear.

You can literally find anything and everything on these sites, and lately I have come across so many classic and one-of-a-kind pieces I’m dying to get my hands on, so don’t knock it ’til you try it.

There are shop owners all over the world selling the latest and greatest trends like LF-style lace-up tees to vintage collectables for just about every school you can think of.

I’m super into the vintage vibes this season, and I’m always looking to add to my already huge USC collection, which is why while writing this, I splurged on a vintage USC Chalk Line Jacket…whoops.

Just kidding, I’m not even mad about it since we all know the bomber jacket trend is back in full force, making them the perfect outerwear for night games (and fall weather in general). Duh.

Well, kids, what are you waiting for?

Go hit up Hype & Vice, Victorywear Apparel, Etsy, and eBay ASAP to complete your game day looks and thank me later.

Stay tuned to the GAME DAY SERIES for TAILGATING 101 (coming soon)!

Until next time.
