Happy Holidays, my beautiful elves!
As some of you may snow…I mean know, I recently posted a poll on Twitter asking if you’d be interested in learning a bit about my winter skincare routine, and, surprisingly, the results were a unanimous “Yes!” I guess we’re all on the same struggle
bus sleigh in terms of hydration this season.
That being said, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite products to share with you that have been moisturizing Christmas miracles during the drier months.
In general, there is nothing worse than feeling like a chapped prune, but it’s especially dreadful when you’re out and about canoodling at holiday party after holiday party.
I don’t know about you, but the constant putting on and taking off of makeup combined with the weather really does a number on my skin. That’s why I’ve spent some quality time searching high and low for the perfect combination of products to help my already dry, sensitive skin retain as much moisture and dewiness as possible.
One of my secret weapons to battle dryness and infuse hydration is a facial steamer. I whip this baby out a few times a week after cleansing (with my Face Halo, of course), which helps prep the skin for product application and enhances absorption.
Next, I like to use a micellar water to double cleanse and a rose toner to, obviously, boost hydration and even things out.
I then follow up with a collagen serum before moving on to my go-to moisturizers.
If you’ve been keeping up with my skincare routines for a while, you’ll know I’m obsessed with the Clinique Moisture Surge line. I am a huge fan of the Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate and the 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. I like to layer both if I’m feeling extra dried out.
For under the eyes, I start with a thin layer of the Advanced Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye Illuminator Youth Activating Concentrate (good Lord what a mouthful) by Lancôme, and top it off with a few dabs of the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado.
Next, I typically spritz a facial mist…or two. I usually reach for my Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray and whatever rosewater spray I have on-hand at the moment. I’m obsessed with all things rosewater.
Last, but certainly not least, I love a good sleep mask. Whether it’s for my face or my lips, I’m all about it. My favorites are the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
I let it all soak-in overnight, and by morning my face feels like a baby’s ass. What more could a girl ask for, right?
I’ve had to be very selective with my skincare over the last few years, as I’ve experienced a few terrible cystic breakouts. However, since incorporating these products, among others, into my routine, I haven’t had to worry about a breakout of that magnitude in months. Not to mention, I’ve been able improve dryness and uneven texture. Winning.
Even though this combo is working pretty well for me at the moment, I’m always interested in what your go-to routines are. Leave me some recommendations below!
Until next time, Santa babies.
